Caring for endangered children is one of the many evangelistic and humanitarian efforts led by Athanase Habimana and the Union of Baptist Churches in the eastern areas of the D.R. Congo. This war-torn and impoverished country has a long history of instability and human suffering, leaving countless children without care.
In 2015, Harvesters International partnered with Athanase to begin feeding a group of homeless orphans near the city of Goma. That effort led to the establishment of the “Orphan’s Framing Center” which is now home to over 90 children who are fed, clothed, educated, and loved. These children have been saved from the all too often fate of at-risk children - lives of crime, prostitution, and despair.
